They cause colony dispersal — cockroaches retreat deeper into walls and appliance interiors, making the distribution of infestation harder to map and the colony harder to reach. Why Cockroach Infestations Are a Health Issue, Not Just a Nuisance
- Disease transmission: As cockroaches forage across kitchen surfaces, they deposit bacteria from their digestive systems — including Salmonella and E. coli — on countertops, cutting boards, and food contact surfaces. Contamination occurs with every pass, regardless of whether the insect is seen.
- Allergen & Asthma Risk: Cockroach droppings, cast skins, and dried saliva particles are established respiratory allergens.
